Troubleshoot drawDB Pro

Resolve common drawDB Pro sign-in, cloud save, workspace, invitation, sharing, collaboration, AI, billing, API key, and MCP problems.

Start with the symptom below. Preserve an exported diagram before attempting recovery steps that could replace or delete data.

Account and verification

SymptomWhat to do
Verification email did not arriveConfirm the address, check spam, wait for Resend code, and request a new code.
Code is expired or incorrectUse only the newest code. Request another after the timer if needed.
Too many verification attemptsStop retrying and wait for the authentication limit to reset.
OAuth link expired or was rejectedReturn to drawDB and start sign-in again. Do not reuse the callback URL.
GitHub sign-in reports no verified emailAdd and verify a primary email in GitHub, or use email/Google sign-in.

See Account, profile, and sign-in.

Cloud diagrams and access

The diagram is still Local

Open it while signed in and select Move in the cloud banner. Confirm the intended workspace first and wait for the completed save state.

Cloud saving failed

Keep the tab open, check the network, and retry a small edit. Export the diagram locally if the error persists. Do not assume an unsaved change reached the cloud.

The diagram is view-only

Your member permission or current plan does not permit writes. Ask the creator or a team Admin for Can edit, or review Settings → Billing when the entire workspace is read-only.

The diagram belongs to a team you no longer belong to

Ask a team Admin to invite the correct account again. Cloud access follows current workspace membership.

Sharing

SymptomWhat to do
Share controls say the diagram is not savedMove it to the cloud and wait for the save.
Share controls say the diagram is emptyAdd at least one table.
A normal copied link denies accessConfirm the recipient is signed in, belongs to the team, and has diagram access.
A public link should stop workingRevoke or disable public sharing; copy the replacement only to intended viewers.
A member cannot editChange their permission to Can edit and confirm the diagram's audience permits access.

See Share Pro diagrams and manage permissions.

Team invitations

ErrorResolution

Live collaboration

  • Amber dot: wait for the first cloud save or connection attempt.
  • Red—feature required: Team Pro collaboration is not active for this workspace.
  • Red—forbidden: the account lacks edit permission.
  • Red—not in cloud storage: save or move the diagram first.
  • Red—network/server: reload once after checking connectivity; normal cloud editing may still work.

See Live collaboration.

Versions and AI

SymptomWhat to do
Record version is unavailableSave the diagram to the cloud and confirm you have edit access and an active Pro plan.
“You have no changes to save.”The current schema matches the latest recorded version.
Migration has no SQLGeneric diagrams support JSON comparison only, or there are no structural schema changes.
AI says to open a saved diagramSave the new canvas as a local or cloud diagram so it has an ID.
AI requests are lockedSign in or restore active cloud access.

Billing activation

If checkout remains pending, let the activation check finish, reopen the editor, and inspect Settings → Billing. Do not repeat checkout until you know the first payment failed. Contact support if activation still does not appear.

API keys and MCP

Common MCP errors are documented in Connect drawDB to AI tools with MCP. For a lost or exposed token, create a replacement, update the client, verify it, then delete the old key.

Contact support

Open the account Settings dialog and use Community for available drawDB links. When reporting a problem, include:

  • The workspace and diagram name, but not an API key or private share token.
  • The exact visible error message.
  • Whether the diagram is Local or Cloud.
  • Your browser and operating system.
  • The approximate time the issue occurred.
