Get started with drawDB Pro
Sign in to drawDB Pro, complete onboarding, choose a workspace, and save or move a database diagram to the cloud.
You can start modeling without an account and sign in only when you need a cloud feature. Pro uses the same editor as the open-source experience, so existing modeling and import workflows still apply.
1. Sign in
Open the drawDB editor, select the account avatar, and choose Sign in. Continue with:
- GitHub
- Email and a six-digit verification code
New accounts are guided through a short, optional onboarding flow. Team-plan signups also name their first team workspace.

2. Understand your workspace
A cloud diagram always belongs to one workspace.
- A personal workspace is intended for your own Pro Solo diagrams.
- A team workspace contains diagrams shared with that team's members.
If your account belongs to more than one workspace, use the workspace control next to the diagram title. Switching workspaces opens that workspace's most recently modified diagram, or a blank canvas when it has no diagrams yet.
Workspace selection affects new diagrams
Confirm the active workspace before creating or importing a diagram. The cloud diagram is saved into that workspace and access follows its membership.
3. Create or import a diagram
Create a blank diagram, start from a template, or import SQL, DBML, JSON, or DDB. Follow Create a database diagram for the complete editor workflow.
When you are signed in with active cloud access, newly saved diagrams are stored in the active workspace. The editor tracks the completed cloud write and shows the latest save state.
4. Move an existing local diagram
When a browser-local diagram is open, drawDB shows:
This diagram is stored locally on your browser. Move it to the cloud?
Select Move. drawDB uploads the diagram, switches the open document to its cloud copy, and enables cloud-only features after the write succeeds.
You can also use File → Open to see local and cloud diagrams together. The source label and filters help distinguish them.
5. Verify the cloud copy
Before sharing or connecting an integration:
- Wait for the save indicator to complete.
- Open File → Open and confirm the diagram is labeled Cloud.
- Confirm the workspace shown beside the diagram title is the intended one.
